Ingredients

  • ½ cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • ¾ cup skim or 1% milk
  • ¼ cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt
  • 1 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 cup mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional)

Steps

  1. Stir the oats, milk, yogurt, chia and cinnamon together in a jar.
  2. Top with the berries, cover and refrigerate overnight.
  3. Stir in the honey in the morning if you want it sweeter. Eat cold or microwave 1–2 minutes.

Low-sodium tips

  • Instant flavored oatmeal packets often have 150–250 mg sodium. Plain rolled oats have almost none.
  • Frozen berries are just as good here, cheaper, and last for months.
